DateDish: the trust layer for online dating

The problem

Dating apps match people. None of them are accountable for what happens next. The person across the table may not be who they said they were, plans fall through constantly, and nothing anyone learns on a date is carried forward to the next person who matches with that same individual. Women carry most of the cost of that gap: in time, in safety and in the mental work of vetting strangers alone.

Every dating platform treats this as a customer-service problem. DateDish treats it as the product.

The product

• Verification that means something. Every member uploads a selfie taken within the last 30 days before they can message anyone; a Verified badge means a government ID was matched to the member's face, with no ID or face data stored. Wingman Validation adds people who actually know the member.
• Date requests. One person proposes a venue, day and time; the other accepts or proposes another; nothing is locked until both agree, and women have the final say. Conversations become commitments.
• The Dish. After a real date, both people can leave honest feedback, kept private between the two of them or shared with the community, at the author's discretion. The Dish builds each member's Trust Score and earns Trust Badges from behavior rather than bios.
• Community. Local insight from nearby members in the app, and Dish Stories on the web: anonymous, city-tagged dating stories that bring new users in through search and social.

The result is a portable reputation for dating, owned by the people who earn it, usable wherever they meet someone.

Why this is a company and not a feature

Incumbent dating apps cannot build this. Their business depends on keeping users inside one app; a trust layer only works if it travels across all of them and into real life. They are also structurally reluctant to let users rate each other, because negative signal reduces engagement. DateDish has no such conflict. Its value grows with every app its members use and every date they go on, and its data asset, verified identity plus real post-date behavior, is one that no matching platform holds.

The wedge is women. When women can see who shows up well, insist on verification and control the plan, they choose the apps and the people that work with that standard. Everyone who wants to date them follows.

Business model

The app is free, with optional in-app purchases (DateDish Plus). Verification, trust data and the date-request layer create paths to partnerships with dating platforms, venues and safety-adjacent services as the network grows. We are deliberate about what we will never do: DateDish does not sell member data, and the Dish is never exposed without the author's choice.
