Apparently it was a rental
Our Old Town date was going well until we reached his minivan. In the back: a toddler seat, a half-eaten biscuit and tiny glittery shoes. He said it was a rental and the seat had been left behind. Then the dashboard lit up with a call from his wife and a reminder about milk and the child’s booster seat. I got out and went for gelato alone. Three scoops felt entirely reasonable.
