The Silver Spring Switch
The man at our Silver Spring café looked exactly like his profile, but remembered none of our conversations. Online: architecture and design. In person: disc golf and blank stares at our inside jokes. Then his phone rang, and an identical voice asked how the date was going. My date admitted he was the identical twin, sent as a placeholder after his brother got called away. I’d expected chemistry, not substitute teaching.
